Sechs Kies (also written Jekki/6Kies) originally meaning 'bastard' in Korean was changed to 'JeKKi' which meant 'six crystals/pebbles/stones/rocks' in German. They debuted on April 15th of 1997 on KMTV Music Tank. On the 25th of the same month, they appeared on SBS Choong Jun 100% and two days later, they made their first appearance on SBS Inky Gayo.

Their debut album was released in May of '97 which led to another appearance on SBS Inky Gayo on July 6 th, performing the hit song 'PomSeng PomSa.'
They were critized for being a H.O.T (High-five Of Teenagers) copycat (which I think is SOOOOOOOOOŚ UNTRUE~!!!) who came out a year or two earlier. Soon after, the following month, they ventured to Los Angeles, California and had a concert and met a few fans there. Three months later, they came back with their 2nd album, featuring the hit 'KiSaDo.'

During the month of December, which was a busy month, their schedule was packed with performances and special appearances and as the month came to an end, they had a concert starting the new year, 1998.

As the years progressed, Sechs Kies was quickly recognized as rising stars of today's Korean music industry and through their success, they have proven themselves as H.O.T's #1 rival (only the musical factor, but they're really great friends) and will always be  (watch out H.O.T fanz~*). HeH hEh...

From February to the month of May, they busied themselves with small concerts and even performed a musical, AliBaBa and the 40 Theives (on MBC), which was loved by many fans and its viewers.

In the summer of 1998 (July), they made numerous shows to t.v. musical shows such as SBS Inky Gayo and KBS Music Bank. Right around then, in mid-July, their hit-song for the third album, 'Road Righter' came out and was a HUGE success. Their new images, looks, styles, vocals and singing techniques for this album, have definitely won A LOT of fans over.

On the 17th, their very first movie, Seventeen was released. Although the acting wasn't so great, but the movie was worth to see. Hopefully, if they starr in another movie, the acting will improve. (^_^) (we kno it will..heh heh)

August through September, Sechs Kies held another concert in JengooK; and performed their second hit 'MuMo Han SaRanG' from the (3rd) 'Road Fighter' album on SBS Inky Gayo. On Halloween 1998, their SpeciaL album was released and soon after that, so was their concert cd (the concert was held in Pusan).

In the gap, from January till August, Sechs Kies worked on their 4th album, 'COM BACK' which was released in September. Earlier in year, they made trips to Taiwan and Guam (like many other Korean singers) and gained even more fame and popularity.

Before returning to the gayo scene from their break, they appeared in some big concerts such as the 'Dream Concert,' 'Speed 012,' and the 'Digital Concert.' Many of these concerts featured other famous and popular singers, such as S.E.S, H.O.T, Fin.K.L, Jo Sungmo, Uhm Junghwa, Park Jiyoon...etc.

Now, with their third hit, 'Don't Move,' from the 4th album, Sechs Kies have gained more fame than ever and is better than ever before. (although 'YeHGaM' was one of the BEST ballads ever produced, but it was never performed enough =P Sad, huh?) And now...you know the rest of the story (^_^)
